Unbeaten Young Pro Ryan Kelly

Ryan Kelly is a 22 year old super welterweight boxer from Birmingham who is starting to make waves in the boxing community. Known as “Ruthless” the 5 foot 10 orthodox Boxer has a perfect Professional record of 6 wins with no defeats with one of his wins coming via knockout.

Ryan had 51 amateur fights and won 40 of them, in his amateur career he won the Midlands title 9 times and also was a national finalist.

Ryan boxes out of Eastside boxing gym and is trained by Jon Pegg and Paul Counihan.

Ryan’s favorite boxer is Gennady Golovkin aka GGG

Ryan told me “I love the way he fights and he's an inspirational fighter”.

The best fight he has ever seen Artuto Gatti vs Micky Ward.

Ryan has been boxing for 13 years I asked him what inspired him to take up the noble art? Ryan told me “At first it was a hobby and then winning inspired me to take it further”.

I then ask Ryan what has been his hardest fight to date? He told me l haven't had many, but my toughest fight was probably my second fight against another unbeaten fighter”.

I contacted Paul Counilhan and Jon Pegg at Eastside to get there views on there boxer, he told me “Ryan is a very exciting young boxer to look out for, he has such a fan friendly style. He is a come forward boxer with aggressive combinations, we are trying to mould him like a Canelo type fighter. Now we have moved him to 6 rounders he needs to knuckle down and really put in 100% and follow instructions well. We at Eastside are very excited about Ryans future and if he dedicates himself to this sport he can will titles”. Jon added “Ryan has a heavy handed aggressive stylist. Ryan is also kicking off the big Birmingham show bragging rights which will be live on sky sports 22nd October, with Sam Eggington and Frankie Gavin headlining the show at the Barclay Card arena Birmingham.

Dexter’s Thoughts

Ryan has hit the ground running in his professional career with 6 straight wins, Eastside’s Paul Counihan thinks they have a real winners to add to the rest of there boxers and if he keeps his winning streak up a there will be yet another champion coming out of Eastside.
