Pro Fighter James Beech Jr

Pro fighter James Beech Jr

James beech Jr, Is a 19 year old Super Bantamweight professional boxer from Bloxwich, Walsall. James 5 foot 8, made his pro debut on 11th February 2017 at the MTK Birmingham show at Tudor Grange Solihul where he kicked off his career with a impressive but hard fought points victory in front of a roaring home crowd.

As an amateur James boxed out of Plecj ABC gym and had 80 fights and won 50 of them and acquired 5 Midlands titles on the way.

Beech is trained by Peter Hickenbottom from Great Wyrley, the Walsall lad said “He’s a top coach he puts a lot of time into me”.

James favorite boxer is Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton, he told me “I just love his come forward fighting style, he was always a exciting fighter”.

When I asked James what has been the best fight he has seen he informed me “I would have to say probably Froch v Groves”.

I then asked him what has been his hardest fight to date? James said “There is not a particular fight that stands out as my hardest, as a amateur I usually ended up in a few wars so they all were pretty tough really”.

Dexter’s Thoughts

I was at James pro debut at Tudor Grange and was very, very impressed. He was put against a tough opponent who tested him, but the young Walsall lad out worked and boxed him beating him on points. James had a massive following supporting him at Tudor Grange and this made for a cracking atmosphere for the show. On my first look at this 19 year old Super Bantamweight I think he has got a bright future ahead of him. The Birmingham boxing column look forward to seeing him box again.
