Black Widow Lauren Johnson

Black Widow Lauren Johnson

Lauren Johnson is a 32 year old female professional boxer from Willenhall. Known as the "Black-widow" this 5 foot 10 welterweight made her debut on the 14th March 2017 on the Black Country boxing show "No Guts No Glory" at the Walsall town hall where she was victorious.

As an amateur this female Southpaw won a Midlands title, English title and a senior national ABA title.

Lauren has been boxing for 4 years and is trained by Paul Mann and Errol Johnson and took up the noble art just to loose weight.

The Black widow then talked about her debut fight, she told me "I felt good but theirs a lot more for me to give, I give my performance a 6/10." Lauren continued "I will keep listening to my coaches and make sure I follow the path they have mapped out for me".

Dexter's Thoughts

I was a Lauren's Debut and I honestly thought she boxed well, she was aggressive and showed great power and shot selection in the fight. Her opponent that night boxed clever and kept herself safe to see out the 4 rounds which Lauren should take as experience (rounds in the bank). The Blackwidow did not look out of place on this professional show and the Birmingham Boxing Column looks forward to seeing Lauren in her second fight.

Lauren will be fighting on the 12th May on the Black Country Boxing Promotion, The Next step dinner show at the Holiday inn Birmingham city centre, tickets cost £65 including a 2 course meal (tables of 10) smart dress, (see poster about how to get tickets).
