Benjamin Wins Midlands title on the Road

Benjamin Wins Midlands title on the Road

Birmingham boxer Kaisee Benjamin went on the road with his Eastside team to Derby to take on then unbeaten fighter Alex Fearon (25) in his home town for the Midlands area welterweight title (9/11/18). Benjamin (23) who has only lost once in seven fights fought with skill, power and experience beyond his years to claim a seventh round TKO with Fearon's corner throwing the towel in. This is the second Midlands title to come to Eastside gym this year with Ryan Kelly claiming the super welterweight title at the start of the year. The Midlands area welterweight title is especially close to the to the Eastside team as pro fighters Karly Gee and Sam Eggington have held this belt before.

Dexter’s Thoughts

Another Midlands title at Eastside gym who are putting Birmingham boxing on the map with now 2 Midlands area title holders in there stable. Kaisee has now put the ultimate Boxxer defeat to bed after winning the area title in such convincing style he has shown any doubters that he is the real deal and is going places. He has raised his profile with this win and has moved from 56th to 24th in the British rankings at welterweight, this can be put down to Benjamin's hard work and his coaching team of Louie and Paul Counihan. I have watched Kaisee since he turned pro around a year and a half ago and was one of the first people to interview the talented boxer. Kaisee has a exciting future ahead of him if he continues on the path he and his team have laid out for him. Benjamin will be another Eastside boxer to watch next year and I can see him fighting for British honors in the next few years. It is an exciting time to be a part of Eastside gym.
