Adam Harper and Drew Brown have been given the opportunity to contest for the vacant English Super Welterweight title. Purse bids for this fight that has yet to be given a date have been won by Hennessy sports which will most likely see it being aired live on Channel five. Harper (32) who resides in Gloucestershire has an impressive record of 9 wins out of 11 fights and has already won the Midlands and English titles at super Welterweight. Harper’s last fight ended in defeat when he took on the talented Anthony Fowler on one of the Matchroom’s Fight Camp’s being stopped in the seventh round.
Drew Brown (24) from Northampton has also got an impressive record winning all 12 of his fights but has not fought over 6 rounds in a fight. Brown has not yet fought for a title but did win the first Golden Robe in the Ultimate Boxxer beating 3 opponents in one night in the prizefighter tournament. This is set to be a cracking fight and I look forward to seeing these two boxers go at it.
Dexter's Thought’s
This has the potential to be a cracking fight, Harper will be looking to get back to winning ways after his defeat to Fox and Brown will be looking to win his first title and jeep his unbeaten record. Harper us a tough fighter and really impressed me when he beat Ryan Kelly for the Midlands title, he then when on to claim the English and will be looking to win it again. Experience has to go to Harper even though he has had fewer fights as he has completed 10 rounds several times. But Brown has youth on his side and will be determined to win his first title and keep his unbeaten record. Brown is a previous BBColumn boxer to watch and I would not be surprised if he wins this but you can not discount Harper who will be giving the young fighter his biggest test to date.
