Pitters British Title Challenged Date Set

Eastside’s Shakan Pitters British title challenge has now got a date, Pitters (30) has been mandatory challenger for the vacant British Light Heavyweight since December 2019. Pitters has faced fighters rejecting purse bids, then opponents pulling out due to injury and just as it seemed he would get his shot the show was cancelled due to the Corona virus. The new date now has been set for Saturday August 22nd and will behind close doors but will be aired live on Channel five. Unbeaten Pitters (13-0) opponent stays the same and he will be taking on the very capable Chad Sugden (11-1-1). This is going to be a great fight and as we have reports on the Column Pitters hasn’t stopped training during the Lockdown and will be more than ready to win the Lonsdale belt.

Dexter’s Thoughts

Finally Shakan Pitters will get his shot at the belt all British boxers want to win and I honestly can not see him not coming out victorious. The Column has followed Shak’s career from the start and have tipped him from the start to win titles. Pitters has improved in every fight I have seen him in and has always entertained and performed to the highest standard he can. But he really started to show his quality in the Ultimate boxxer where he decimated the competition winning the golden robe with ease. Shakan then went on to put in a great technical performance against Dec Spelman beating him on points to claim the English Light Heavyweight title. I really wished that Shakan’s massive support could be there when he win the British title but I’m sure like myself they will all be cheering him on watching it live on channel five.

The Birmingham Boxing Column look forward to entering Shakan Pitters to the Bbcolumn ‘Hall of Fame’.
