The Bandit Gets a Crack at Hennessy

Cogan’s Corners newest professional boxer Josh Hodgins (29) has got the call to fight on the undercard of the Hennessy sports show on the 22nd August. Eastsides Shakan Pitters will be headlining the show when he takes on Chad Sugden for the Light Heavyweight British title. The show will be aired live on Channel 5 and will be seen by millions of boxing fans all over the country.

Hodgins known as ‘The Bandit' will be taking on Promoters Mick Hennessy’s son the unbeaten Michael Hennessy jr (20). Hennessy jr has had 4 fights winning 3 of then with one draw, this will be only Hodgins (0-1) second professional fight and he will be looking to use Hennessy jr to boost his fight credentials to get himself even bigger fights.

Dexter’s Thoughts

It’s great to hear Josh has got a fight so soon after the Lockdown has been eased, he only had his first fight just before the Lockdown started which for a journeyman has scuppered his career. The Cogans Corners fighter has been training hard during the Lockdown and will be ready to give Hennessy jr a good test and I think that if Hodgins applies himself like he did in the unlicensed scene he could well come out with a win.
