Two Big Fight Announced by BcB promotions

Black Country Boxing have announced 2 massive fights to kick off 2019. Undefeated duo

Connor Parker and Cori Gibbs will go head to head in a British Title Eliminator, and battle it out for Parker's Midlands Area Super Lightweight Title, at Walsall Town Hall on Saturday, 9th March. Parker (23) from Burton on Trent and now residing in Derbyshire is 10 fights without defeat, he won the Super Lightweight Midlands area title in his 8th fight against Kevin Hooper winning in the 5th round.

Gibbs (25) from Birmingham and fights out of Eastside gym is 12 without defeat and will be looking to take Parker’s title off him on the BcB show at the Walsall Town hall on the 8th March. This is set to be a cracking contest with someone 0 having to go and then the chance to fight for the British title also on the line.

The second big news was English Bantamweight Champion Kyle Williams challenging current British Champion, Ukashir Farooq, for the Lord Lonsdale Belt. Farooq (23) is 11 without defeat and won the Lonsdale belt in his tenth fight against Jamie Wilson stopping him in the first round. Farooq who was born in Pakistan and now resides in Glasgow has already defend the title against Iain Butcher in a unanimous decision. Williams (26) is from Wolverhampton and has been on a title role as in his last three fights he has claimed the Midlands area super Bantamweight title stopping Jordan Turner in the seventh and then going on to win the English title against champion Thomas Essomba in a split decision. Purse bids to be submitted in accordance with the Terms and Conditions to the Board’s Head Office by 12:00 noon on Wednesday, 13th February 2019, the contest to take place by the end of May 2019. Dexter’s Thoughts

These are two great fights with some of the top fighters from the Midlands contesting them, BcB's Parker has a great record and will be looking to win his first defence and a crack at the Lonsdale belt. He is up against the very talented Cori Gibbs who is hungry for titles and gas that Eastside mentality of taking on all comers. This is going to be a cracker but I would have to go for Gibbs but to win he will have to be at the top of his game.

This is great news about Williams getting a shot at the British title, he won two titles last year and I have a feeling he will be adding the British title to his collection, fingers crossed this is on a BcB show locally as the column have followed the former Kickboxers rise through the ranks and would love to be there when he wins which will get him into the Birmingham Boxing Column’s Hall of Fame.
