Broadhurst gets Crack at British Title

Broadhurst gets crack at British Title

Birmingham's own Don Broadhurst has announced on social media that he will be challenging for the British Bantamweight title on 23rd September at the Manchester arena. The former Commonwealth super flyweight and current English super Flyweight champ will be moving up in weights to take on the current British bantamweight holder Josh Wale on the under-card of the WBO world heavyweight title fight between Joseph Parker and Hughie Fury (Tyson Fury's cousin).

I dropped Don a message to get his take on getting this opportunity, Don informed me "its been a long time coming but I'm over the moon and going to give It my best. It's heavier than I normal fight at but your can't pass these opportunities up".

Ticket prices for the show are

£40, £60, £100, £150, £200

Ringside £300, VIP Golden Circle £600 (corporate package), Contact Don for tickets

Dexter's Thoughts

Like Don said it has been a long time coming, Broadhurst has been another frustrated Birmingham boxer who has had to tick over on small hall shows while waiting for his chance. Don has now got the opportunity to win one of the most coveted belts in boxing and bring a Lonsdale belt back to Birmingham, he is fighting at a heavier weight but this may play into the Erdington veterans hands as making weight will not be a worry. The new season is looking great for Birmingham boxing and I really can't wait to see all our Brummie fighters come back with new or defended there belts.
