The Savage ready to do an Italian job

“The Savage” Sam Eggington will be heading over to Italy to take on the current IBF international super Welterweight champ Orlando Flordigiglio for his title. The fight will be in Florence at the Tuscany Hall and is scheduled for 10 rounds. Fiordigiglio (35) claimed the title in his last fight beating Stephen Danyo on a split decision in April of this year. Flordigiglio's record stands at 31 wins coming from 33 fights with 13 of his wins coming by K.O. Eggington (25) who has won his last two fights this year after losing to the world class Liam Smith at the start of the year will be looking to claim another title at super welterweight after winning the IBO continental title at the weight last year. This will be a big test for the Eastside boxer as Flordigiglio has won numerous belts at super welterweight including a IBF continental title, a WBC international title and the EBU title, but as always the Savage will be looking to do an Italian job on September 19th.

Dexter’s Thoughts

Well it’s great to see Sam back in title contention, he has won his last two warm up fights and will be itching to get a new belt around his waist. From looking at Flordigiglio’s record he is no mug and will be a test for Eggington, but has he ever fought someone like the savage? This has the makings of a cracker but I have every confidence in Sam Eggington winning this title and cracking on to bigger titles in the future. I look forward to watching Eggington’s journey back to the top.
