BcB fighters looking at big title shots

Black Country Boxing Promotions have secured 4 of there fighters title shots or eliminators for big titles.

The first is Kyle Williams who will be contesting for the WBO European Bantamweight title in his home town of Wolverhampton 18th October. Williams (11-1) has previously won the Midlands area title retiring Jordan Turner in the seventh, he then went on to win the English Bantamweight title beating Thomas Essomba on a split decision. Williams then went on the road to Scotland to take on the highly rated British Bantamweight champion Ukashir Farooq for his title, the champ stopped Williams in the 5th round.

Next up is Tyler Denny who has been made the mandatory challenger for the English Middleweight title. Southpaw Denny (12-1-2) is a former Midlands area Middleweight champion beating Tom Stokes on points. He will be taking on the unbeaten Linus Udofia (14-0) at the York hall Bethnal Green London on the 30th November for the vacant title. Denny is having his second crack at the English after the Doctor had to stopped his last shot in the seventh as Tyler had sustained a badly cut lip and damage by his right eye.

In an eliminator fight for the Female Commonwealth super Featherweight title we have the “Ginger Matador” Rachel Ball. Ball (4-1) will be heading to Swindon to take on Bec Connolly (3-6) in her home town on the 30th November. Ball is a former 3 times world kickboxing champion and has been in some very exciting fights, the former bbcolumn Boxer to watch lost her last fight when she headed to Norway to take on the unbeaten Katharine Thanderz (10-0) losing in a very close fight on a majority decision.

Finally we have Midlands Bbcolumn Hall of Famer and British super Middleweight champion Zach Parker who has been given an eliminator fight for the WBO super Middleweight world title currently held by Billy Joe Saunders. Parker (18-0) will first have to get passed Australian Rohan Murdock (24-1), Murdock on paper looks like a big test for the British champion as he holds the WBO Asia Pacific youth and the WBO Oriental Super Middleweight titles. The fight has not got a date yet as it has been put up for purse bids.

Dexter’s Thoughts

What a end to the year for Black Country Boxing and there fighters, they had already announced that two of there fighters have been made mandatory challengers for British titles in Lennox Clarke and Andrew Robinson. Now they having Tyler Denny contesting for the English Middleweight title at York Hall on the 30th November. Tyler had told me this was on the cards a few weeks ago and I am chuffed for him that it has now been confirmed. I was there when Denny won the Midlands area and was very impressed with his performance, he has impressed me every time I have seen him box and I have a feeling we could have yet another English champion in the Midlands. Kyle Williams has a big fight next week for the WBO European title, I have a real good feeling the former kickboxer will add this title to his Midlands and English and claim his place in the bbcolumn hall of Fame. Rachel Ball is on the cusp of getting a shot at the Commonwealth title, I think the “Ginger Matador” will have way to much experience in big fights and skill wise for Connolly and will win in fine style. Very exciting times for Zach Parker he is Super Middleweight British champion and has a big chance of claiming a shot at the WBO world title. Again I think Parker will have to much for Murdock as a lot of Murdocks fights have been in Australia. The column will as always report on all these fights and they will be featured in issue 4 of the bbcolumn magazine out in January.
