Christmas Cracker For Female Area Title

Twenty four year old Sian O’Toole has been given a fantastic opportunity to claim her first professional title in only her third professional contest. O’Toole from Droitwich will be taking on the very tough and durable Stoke based southpaw Beccy Ferguson for the Vacant Featherweight Female Midlands area title. The featherweight contest is scheduled for ten two minute rounds and will held at the Eastside Rooms in Birmingham on the 20th December promoted by BcB promotions.

O’Toole has had two six round contests so far as a professional and is yet to lose a round winning both fights 60 to 54. O’Toole had a impressive amateur career winning three National youth titles boxing out of Droitwich ABC. When doing Sian first write up when she was still an amateur, former Commonweath and British champ Frankie Gavin had this to say. He said “Sian trains extremely hard, she has the potential to do very well in the sport”.

Her opponent southpaw Beccy Ferguson's (33) record does not really reflect how good she is winning five out of fourteen contests with most of her defeats coming out of the away corner. Ferguson has turned her fortune round in her last three fights winning all of them. Ferguson has also contested for the super Featherweight vision of this belt already taking on Vicky Wilkinson in November of last year losing on points at the Hangar Event Venue Wolverhampton on a point decision.

This contest is set to be a Christmas Cracker with BcB promotions bringing another title fight contest to Birmingham.

Dexter’s Thoughts

When I saw this contest announced I was straight on to both fighters to get there views on this cracking fight. This in my opinion is going to be a very interesting contest with Sian having such a great amateur career and then really impressing in her first two fights, to Ferguson who has enter the professional ring fourteen times against some very tough opponents and has now got a three fight winning streak as she come into this fight. Both fighters have there pluses with O’Toole having nice fast hands, great shot picking and showing boxing skills of a fighter with much more pro experience than she possesses. Ferguson also has her pluses she has a tough come forward styles, massive durability, works well on the inside and does not mind digging deep when she has to. Both boxers also like to have a scrap as in O’Toole two fights I have seen her take it there not that she had to but she wanted to and as for Ferguson that is one of her main traits that she will have it with anyone. This is set to be a cracking contest and is another fight where I could not pick a winner, all I know is that I am very much looking forward to these fighters getting it on for the Midlands title and may the best female win.
