Denny to defend title

English Middleweight champ Tyler Denny will defend his title against the unbeaten Brad Pauls live on Sky Sports on 11th February 2023. The fight will be held at Wembley arena and is being promoted by Ben Shalom (Boxxer Promotions).

This will be Denny’s 2nd defense of his English title after defending it against another unbeaten fighter Bradley Res in November of 2022. Denny (31) from Rowley Regis claimed the title after beating the then-unbeaten River Wilson-Bent on points in June of 2022 in a fight-of-the-year performance. Denny’s record is a very impressive one with 15 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats, his 2 defeats both came in earlier English title attempts with one going to point and another being stopped due to cuts. Denny is unbeaten in his last four fights with all the fighters being unbeaten at the time.

Brad Pauls (29) from Essex has an unbeaten record of 16 without defeat with 9 of them coming via way of knockout. Pauls has only fought in 10-round fights four times and has only gone the distance once stopping the other three. His last contest was against Birmingham’s Ryan Kelly which went the ten-round distance with Pauls winning on a split decision.

Dexter’s Thoughts

What a great fight Boxxer Promotions have announced to be aired live on Sky Sports on February 11th, but I would have loved to have seen Denny go to the next stage and fight for the British Middleweight title which is currently held by Denzel Bentley. Denny has been sensational in his last few fights beating unbeaten fighter River Wilson-Bent for the English title and then defending it against Bradley Reas.

The Pauls fight will be a cracker of that I’m sure and if Denny keeps up the form, he has shown in his last few fights he will come out the victor. I look forward to seeing this contest and reporting on it.
