Farrell Makes It Three Without defeat

Second City gyms hot prospect Niall Farrellmade it three without defeat as he headlined the “All The Lights’ show at Planet Ice Solihull promoted by Tommy Owens Promotions. Farrell showcased his boxing skill in an excellent display of the noble art dropping his opponent twice and going though the gears with a very controlled performance. The twenty six year old Kingstanding lad had brought a massive following o Planet Ice and he did not disappoint as he took on a very game and tough Columbian in Joshua Ocampo. Ocampo (29) had a decent record for a journeyman winning eight and drawing four out of Twenty seven contest but the most worrying thing was that he had stopped six of the eight he had won. Farrell weighed in nine stone twelve with Ocmpo coming in nine stone ten in this four round super lightweight contest with Chris Dean refereeing.

Controlled first round by Farrell who used his jab well and dictated the pace with some clinical combinations. Farrell turned up the heat in the second going head and body like a seasoned Pro, Ocampo did not look like he liked the body shots that were landing with Farrell dropping him with a lovely body shot. Ocampo took a count and got to his feet and managed to see the round out. Farrell picked up the pace in the third picking his shots well with everyone seeming to hurt Ocampo, Farrell then landed a cracking left hook to Ocampo’s haw putting him down for the second time of the contest. Some how Ocampo got to his feet andvwas allowed to carry on and saw the round out. Farrell took his time in the final round and let his boxing do the talking picking not just shots but eye-catching combinations as a very game Ocampo fought back.

Farrell won 40 to 34 on Chris Dean’s card, I had it the same.

Dexter’s Thoughts

Another fantastic performance by Niall Farrell as he showcased an array of boxing skills against a very game opponent in Ocampo. Farrell showed control and some great shot picking and dictated the pace of the throughout the contest. He also show cased that he possesses power in both hands and with that I have to give Ocampo credit for getting himself up after the second knock down. Farrell will not be celebrating for long as ge is set to fight again  on the 25th September at the Excelsior sporting club Cannock.

Niall Farrell is one of the honest prospect around in Birmingham at the moment and is definitely one to watch for the future.
