The ‘0-Taker’ Ben Fields scored a sensational first-round stoppage victory stopping Kent hot prospect George Hannon in the first round. The thirty-three-year-old Birmingham scrapper also broke his curse of the York Hall winning his first fight at the Legendary boxing venue in his fifth attempt. Fields were in no mood to mess around and put it on Hannon in this ten-round eliminator for the English title. He backed up the Londoner from the start putting him down twice before the stoppage. The end came when Fields went ‘full 0-Taker’ throwing big left and right hooks eventually landing a cracking right hand that put Hannon down with the ref stopping the fight. This was a big statement by Fields who has now earned a shot at the Super Lightweight English title.
Dexter’s Thoughts
So chuffed for Ben Fields fitting this great stoppage victory again in the away corner and making a big statement. This is a big win for him as in his last eight fights before this he had only drawn two and won one but all that is now forgotten as he will get a crack at the English Super Lightweight title. He is a role model to everyone not to give up as if you know his story and what life battles he has been though to be where he is now is an even greater achievement. I'll finish by saying congratulations to the ‘0-Taker’ and will be down to Cogans Corner soon to see him soon.
