Kronks Boxer, Dylan Norman

Twenty-two-year-old Dylan Norman is just starting out on his professional career making his debut back in June of 2021. The Orthodox fighter from Chelmsley wood who is known as ‘The Lion Heart’ or ‘The Cinderella Man’ has had a total of four contests winning all of them on points. Standing five foot nine the lightweight fighter trains at the Kronks gym in Solihull under the tutelage of ex-British Middleweight champ Wayne Elcock.

Norman has been boxing since he was 10 years old and when I asked this young hot prospect what inspired him to take up the noble art, he told me. "I didn’t have the best upbringing so I always wanted to know how to fight, it was a way to help make me feel safe but as soon as I walked into a Boxing gym I felt like I was at home”.

We chatted about Boxing in general and I asked him who his favourite boxer was and why? He said “My favourite fighter has got to be Josh Warrington, he is an incredible fighter and really knows how to go to war, he is a true champion. Josh is my favourite fighter because he is a people person and lives in the gym like myself”. I then ask him what is the best fight he has seen. Dylan informed me “I wasn’t there but I think Sam Eggington vs Ted Cheeseman was an incredible fight to watch both showed heart”.

We then talked about his boxing career and I asked him what his hardest fight has been to date. The unbeaten fighter told me “My hardest fight has got to of been my pro debut, I had it all going on I had a cut under my eye and it was my pro debut against another debutant so we were both coming to win”.

Dylan finished by saying “I have been Boxing for some time now and have been around some of Britain’s best like Frankie Gavin, Adam Harper, Andrew Robbinson, Owen Cooper, Malcolm Melvin and Jake Melvin and now I’m trained by Wayne Elcock. I think all the knowledge and experience I have picked up from everyone it has helped me massively in my career so far and would just like to say a massive thank you to all of them”.

Norman continued “I am part of the Kronks Birmingham family and I’m extremely looking forward to my career ahead with Wayne Elcock in my corner. I would also like to say a massive thank you to my sponsors Hungrybear, Concrete Developments and Son and Milano barbers for all their help and support”.

Dylan’s fifth fight of his pro career will be on the Tommy Owens Promotions show at the Ice Planet on the 10th of June 2023.

Dexter’s Thoughts

I saw Norman Box for the first time at his last fight on the Tommy Owens Promotions show at The Ice Planet Solihull in February of this year and have to say I was impressed. He was taking on veteran Journeyman Liam Richards for the second time and scored a clean sweep winning all four rounds in a shut-out contest. His debut was a tough one against a fighter who was as well making his debut winning on points, his other fight was against the tough Stu Greener who has caused a few upsets winning every round in his four-round contest. He has a great trainer in Wayne Elcock who has a great knowledge of boxing and has a great ethos at his Kronks Birmingham gym. Norman is only four fights into his pro career but if he keeps going the way he is he may well eclipse his trainer and win even bigger titles. I look forward to seeing Norman fight at the Ice Planet on June tenth.
