Kundalini King Makes it Eight Without Defeat

The Wolverhampton ‘Kundalini King’ Jermaine Osbourne-Edwards notched up his eighth victory as a professional boxer at the Hangar Event Venue Wolverhampton (15.09.23). The thirty-four-year-old southpaw was top of the bill at the Black Country Boxing Promotions show and was taking on the tricky journeyman Naeem Ali in a four round super Welterweight contest, Osbourne-Edwards weighed in ten stone five with Ali coming in ten stone eight with Kevin Parker reffing.

Good movement and shot-picking by Osbourne-Edwards from the first bell as he landed some heavy shots winning the round and nullifying anything Ali tried. Osbourne-Edwards continued to pick nice shots in the second and was in full control landing nice combinations to Ali’s head and body, Ali returned fire but to no avail. Osbourne-Edwards really started to let his hands go in the third but was warned for hitting Ali with a low blow, when the fight continued Ali complained again about a low blow but the ref told him to carry on. Osbourne-Edwards continued to control the round winning it with ease. Osbourne-Edwards put some nice combinations together in the fourth but had to chase Ali around the ring as he attempted to stay out of trouble, you could see Osbourne-Edwards was looking for a big finish as his fans cheered him on, fair play to Ali as he took some big shots and managed to see the round out.

Ref Kevin Parker scored the fight 40 to 36 Osbourne-Edwards, I had it the same.

Dexter’s Thoughts

Great performance by Osbourne-Edwards as he was up against a very tricky journeyman who ran for most of the contest. Osbourne-Edwards has a very big following who spur him on in his fights. Osbourne-Edwards has already been named as the challenger for the Midlands area welterweight title and will be taking on the winning of the Jamie Stewart vs Kirk Stevens title fight at the end of the month. This may not happen this year so we may see the ‘Kundalini King’ out again before he challenges for the title. The Birmingham Boxing Column looks forward to seeing him fight again soon.
