Spider Makes It Three Stoppages Out Of Four

Birmingham’s ‘Spider’ Ibraheem Sulaimaan notched up his third stoppage victory out of his first four fights on the Matchroom show at Resorts World Birmingham (22,6,24). The unbeaten twenty-three-year-old made a massive statement live on Dazn on the ‘Before the Bell’ part of the Denny v Cash show. Sulaimaan was having his first six-round contest of his professional career as he took on Jesus Gonzalez (20) from Colombia who had lost one fight out of four coming into this contest. Sulaiman weighed into the contest nine stone nine with Gonzalez coming in the same in this super Lightweight contest with ‘A’ Star ref Kevin Parker refereeing.

Great start by Sulaimaan who picked great shots from orthodox or southpaw stance using great faints landing shots at will. Sulaimaan had his opponent down right at the end of the first with a cracking left hand, Gonzalez got to his feet as the bell went and was allowed to return to his corner.

Sulaimaan came out with intent in the second landing some fact and hurtful shots pushing Gonzalez back to the corner,  as Gonzalez worked his way out of the corner Sulaimaan caught him with a cracking body shot which dropped Gonzalez for the second time. Kevin Parker counted Gonzalez but as he rose to his feet waved the fight off one minute fifty seconds into the second round.

Dexter’s Thoughts

Another great performance by Sulaimaan who takes his record to four without defeat. He is living up to all the hype that has been talked about him and has just stopped a fighter with a similar record to him. Matchroom has not yet offered him a contract but after this performance, they would be made not to. Sulaimaan is looking like a star in the making and there is no doubt that he will be contesting for big titles very soon if Matchroom doesn’t pick him up I’m sure there will be several promotions that will take him on. ‘Spider’ Ibraheem Sulaimaan looks like a special talent and one of the hottest prospects around and I look forward to seeing him out again very soon.
