Two Without Defeat For Skidmore

Tipton's Danny Skidmore took his professional record to two without defeat at the Bescot Stadium Walsall (26.94.24). Twenty-eight-year-old Skidmore was taking on Simas Volosinas in a four-three-minute round contest on the BcB Promotions show ‘Powar Moves’. Volosinas (33) from Lithuanian was entering the professional ring for the one hundredth and twenty-seventh time in this super lightweight contest with both fighters weighing in nine stone twelve with Ryan Churchill reffing.

Fast start by Skidmore as he used his long jab to set up some nice combinations, Volosinas stood strong and got the odd shot off but Skidmore won the round with ease. Skidmore continued his good work in the second again using his long jab to set up great combinations to Volosinas head and body as he covered up.

Volosinas had a go at the start of the third but Skidmore just continued to use his jab and land great combinations winning the round. Volosinas covered up in the final round as he looked to hold at every point, Skidmore stepped it up to finish the contest strong landing some great combinations and backhands.

Ref Ryan Churchill scored it 40 to 36 Skidmore, I had it the same.

Dexter’s Thoughts

Very good performance by Skidmore as he took on a very experienced veteran Journeyman in Volosinas. Skidmore used his high advantage and his reach with everything coming off a long jab. I can see a lot of potential in Skidmore and if he continues to progress, I can see him challenging for a Midland’s area title in the best year or two. I look forward to seeing Skidmore back in the ring very soon.
