Windle Gets Crack At the Commonwealth Title

The ‘Poet with Punch’ Matt Windle will be taking on the unbeaten South Africa Siphelele Myeza for the vacant light Flyweight Commonwealth title in Sheffield on thee 26th August 2022. The fight will be the aired live on the Fightzone streaming channel and will be held at the Platinum suite Bramall Lane Sheffield. Myeza has an unbeaten record winning all 8 of his fights on points with his last contest being a six rounder which ended in a split decision. Windle will be having his fifth title fight in a row and the 31-year-olds record of 6-wins 1 draw and 4 defeats does not do the talented Brummie fighter justice.

Widdle could well make history if he wins this prestigious title as this will the first time it is fought for in over a century at Light Flyweight. He will also be the first British fighter in over 120 and the first Birmingham born pugilist to win this title.

Tickets are £50 standard and £100 VIP and are available from the Fightzone website or by contacting Matt himself.

Dexter’s Thought’s

Great news that the Commonwealth have reinstated this title and Windle will get first crack at it. His opponent is unbeaten but from looking at his record is un tested and has never fought over six rounds. I am very confident that The ‘Poet with Punch’ will win this title as he has the championship experience and with Spencer McCracken behind him he has a great team backing him up. Windle will make history when he wins this title and will also be entered to the Bbcolumn ‘Hall of Fame’, I look forward to seeing Windle in action on August 26th.
